Don’t Wake Me: The Ballad Of Nihal Armstrong  is an intensely dramatic and moving true story of a mother’s tireless battles and inspiring triumphs in her struggle for her disabled son’s rights.

It is a story of severe disability, of battles won against all odds, of struggles, challenges and the frustrations of being misunderstood.

But above all, it is a story of a mother-son relationship unlike any other. A story of a mother’s everlasting love for a very special child, who, through it all, shows intelligence, innocence, charm and a wicked sense of humour.

Performed by Jaye Griffiths

Written by Rahila Gupta

Directed by Guy Slater

  1. I am not planning to release further rights until the current production comes to an end but do give me details of what you have in mind and I will come back to you.

  2. Greetings! My name is Michael Storr and I work at Miami University in Oxford, OH. I coach the competitive speech and debate team here…also known as “forensics.”

Within forensics, there is a competitive event called “Dramatic Interpretation.” The description of this event is:

Dramatic Interpretation (DI) is an event in which the competitor interprets a selection from a dramatic theatrical script A single competitor plays several parts, which are differentiated using “pops” between various positions and voices, each representing a different character. “Pops” are supposed to be as clean as possible, and each character should be clearly distinguishable from any other character. One can also play one character.

Oftentimes, students perform monologues and that is why I am writing you. I was wondering if it would be possible to read DON’T WAKE ME in hopes that the script could be used by one of my students.

I want to make it clear that NO MONEY would be made from the performance of this script. Forensics is simply an activity that aims to introduce students to various social/political issues and give these students and those who might not always have a voice, a voice through this activity. It is STRICTLY for educational purposes.

Additionally, I am more than happy to pay for a copy of the script or make a donation.

Any help you can provide would be wonderful.

Thanks you for your time! My contact information is below.
